Turquoise and purple do go together
So, I had dyed this turquoise and purple roving (leftover dyes from one of our dye days) and it just didn't turn out very appealing. Frankly, I wondered what I was thinking at the time. So this otherwise lucious 50%merino/50% silk roving sat around, and I would wince every time I looked at it. But then I drum carded it.

Tada!

Here are better color representations of some of the other stuff - amazing what one can accomplish with a nice monitor.

Not being a person who works with fibre a lot, I have to know what you use to dye these? Do you ever use natural dyes? It's very interesting! I know how to spin wool, but I don't knit, crochet or weave. I'd like to learn when I have more time.

I use acid dyes for the most part, with an occasional bit of fun with Koolaid. I have used natural dyes in the past, but they are a great deal of work, and tend to be very messy and smelly. I am also enjoying the vibrant color I can get with the acid dyes.
