Important stuff
Stolen with permission from The Divine Miss V *smile*

The Four Agreements.

1. BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORDS
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth or love.

2. DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

3. DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTION
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

2 is hard, but I'm getting better at it in some situations. The first part of 3 (expressing what I want) is hard.

Things to work on.

Integrity is a lost concept. Honor is a sweater we wear when we want to impress our associates. So much of contemporary behavior revolves around adaptation to prevailing circumstance that we neglect to draw the line between being bettering ourselves and bettering our position.

Most people wouldn't know the truth if it took a crap in their Chardonnay.

TRUTH is a hard one....
and when do you tell an old lady you think
she looks great even when she looks like
she is dying

this could also be compassionate also

*nod* I have known old ladies in their 80's who are without a doubt quite beautiful. Those who continue to grow, learn, be. That is beauty, and should be acknowledgedas such.

The fact that one is dying is of little consequence.

My grandmother is 96 and as sharp as a tack... she also
looks great... my aunt on the other hand looks like she is
in so much pain...
and she is ...
one truth is she looks bad and yet I always find beauty in
her... so the truth I tell is the one i find more
compelling...she is awesome

so I guess the whole point is find the good in all

I'm going to make a desktop (i.e. wallpaper for you windoze types) with that on it.

If it weren't creepy, I'd include a picture of you to remind me I got it from my wise friend. :-)
