Friday Five
1. What is your most prized material possession?
TedTed (see post from 1/19), with my Grandma's diamond running a close second.

2. What item, that you currently own, have you had the longest?
I've had TedTed my entire life

3. Are you a packrat?
In some ways yes - esp. with my fiber stuff. In other ways I am not. It goes through cycles.

4. Do you prefer a spic-and-span clean house? Or is some clutter necessary to avoid the appearance of a museum?
I could never live in a museum, but I do like things to be neat and tidy.

5. Do the rooms in your house have a theme? Or is it a mixture of knick-knacks here and there?
Moving to a new place soon, so I don't know yet. Generally I'm not into 'themes'.

Completely Irrelevant To This Post...
...but related to a convo we were having recently:

when i was going through recovery on my PDA a couple days ago, i looked through all the various jots on my notepad. there was this, which has been there since April of '01:

Title: "How To Survive"

#1 - No expectations
#2 - Actions speak louder than words
#3 - You can only count on yourself

alt, otherwise content-free...

Great minds thing alike *grin*

I've used this as a sig on and off since sometime in 1998.

Do you find yourself occasionally, just for a little while, wanting to be one of those very cute, helpless little girls that everyone takes care of? It would be nice, I think, to not be Miss Responsibility but to be taken care of/cherished for a day, maybe two. After that it would drive me bonkers...

From the male side of the fence, I've felt this as well.

Re: Completely Irrelevant To This Post...
there's nothing wrong with a little pampering and such :)

but ...

too much, yeah, it drives you (me) nuts...

when i visit my dad and his new wife (my technical step mom),
they are ALL about providing my needs. 24x7. drives me NUTS
after a few days. "we're going to the store, do you want anything?",
"i'm up, do you want anything", "is there anything i can do for
you", "are you comfy? hungry? LET ME DO THINGS FOR YOU!" :>
(i considered saying "do you think you could goto the bathroom
for me?" once. well, twice. *smyrke*)

i just grin and bear it. it's pretty much the only family i have
left these days. someday, too soon, it will be gone.

Okay, now I'm wigged out.
that's just entirely too weird, that i had that, verbatim, in my pda. i wasn't even an lj-er back then, i don't think. where did i run across this?

Re: Okay, now I'm wigged out.
Dunno...

I don't remember how I came to be using that - it's been a long time *smile* I suppose I could have come up with it and it just got used. I do more than occasionally come across a 'me' quote that I came up with when I was oh, 14 or 15 or so:

'Redheadedness isn't just a haircolor, it's a state of mind.'

Even had a few shirts made up for some redheaded friends with that on it long, long ago. Things get around.

Do the rooms in your house have a theme?

Themes in terms of decorating I do get into. I like things that match or go together.

But not necessarily in the strictest terms of everything must 'match'. For example, instead of one big set of matching dishes from Crate and Barrel, I want to mix 2 smaller sets of dishes. They are neither the same color (sage and cream) nor the same style, but they are complimentary and 'go' together.
