Despite an absolutely wretched start to the week which caused me to lose a day during this most crucial period of the quarter, my partner and I may still have met our obligations to ourselves (more like me meeting my obligation to her and her's to me, as we work as a close team) and the company, and attained our quota. Not to mention any extra pin money we get hinges on hitting that number. Considering that quota is almost $5 million, it's not a walk in the park for the two of us. The preliminary estimates show us to be right up there, but unfortunately close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades...
Miss R*** was quite disappointed when I couldn't make it back for Monday (as was I!), as that is typically a day we ride hard and put away wet in order to prep for dollars by the end of the week. I missed 16 calls (2 of them conference calls) on Monday, including one of my biggest opportunities who was subsequently not available for the rest of the week *sigh* But we worked our magic and I still got a few $$ in the door. Yesterday and today were simply madhouses.
So we hold out hope that we made it until Monday, when the final calculations are completed. If it turns out to be the quota version of missing that damned United flight by a minute and a half I will be tremendously disappointed and aggravated, to say the least. I’m sure I would have to take an extra long stomp at lunchtime. And then we get 'the talks' *sigh* That would be unpleasant and we have to run around justifying our existences.
While I was proud of being tough and capable and holding everything together for a productive 10 hour day after the little 2 hour nap subsequent to my 17 hour exercise in
Take home lesson – doing anything in January in the Northeast is not worth the possibilities inherent in the their winters. Not when I have important obligations to meet.
I did get to demonstrate that I’m extremely competent, can cope better than most, and can take care of myself – all very good things *smile*
