STL things I miss
Toasted ravioli
Gooey Butter cake
Miss Hulling's Lemon Split cake
TED DREWES! (we all know where DQ stole that idea from, hmmm?)
Authentic thin crust pizza (Imo's & Talanya's - mmmmm)
Velvet Freeze ice cream - Gold Coast was the best
Amighetti's Specials
Crab Rangoon
Vess soda
BBQ - St. Louis style
St. Paul sandwiches
Chocolate covered raspberries & molasses lollipops

I've been gone for 14 years, but I still miss the food.

TED DREWES! (we all know where DQ stole that idea from, hmmm?)

I will so not show this post to butterfly_smile since she is
also from STL and talks abut Ted Drewes constantly!

I heard you can order the stuff and have it shipped in dry ice.

She will know about each one of the thing on my list, I bet ;)

The only real way to have Drewes was to drive down on Grand one one of the oppressively humid August nights, stand in the line that went 'round the building & down the block, and then sit on the hood of the car enjoying a Concrete.

Ahhhh - memories.

Have heard that...well I opened my mouth so she will probably be commenting shortly since she pretty much misses everything on the list that you have.

I hope you do not mind me posting in your journal, but I am chiefteds girlfriend whom he spoke about. I am so so home sick right now but very excited because there is someone else who knows of these wonderful and mighty things.

I have just found a recipe for gooey butter cake and found that you can get the lemon split cake sent to me. I know that you can get Ted Drews fedex to you but i have to wait until i have the money for that.

oh my .......off to cry in pillow.

You are a wonderful woman for posting this.

Let me help out a little more ;)

You can order IMO's & Ravs online here

So, where can I get Miss Hulling's shipped?

You are welcome to post anytime. Yes, I sure do understand the power of the STL food. I was thinking about wings from Cullpeppers just the other day. When I lived in the CWE I'd walk down & order a couple pounds of wings, a few Cokes, a huge stack of napkins, and sit reading the walls.

PS - the answer to the important question is Mary I & Kirkwood

Culpepper's also had the best homemade soups I've ever had in a restaurant; their oxtail soup, for example, was heaven on earth.

Crab rangoon? I've had it elsewhere, and can't tell the difference. . .

Hard question....
Mary I

I thought of you today, I made Gooey Butter Cake and almost cried.
I made crab rangoon last weekend....very good but still not the same as the little chinese hole in the wall by my old work. I was also remembering their fried chicken gizzards.....

I will have to check on the pizza about getting it delivered and of course some Ted Drew.
Okay now I have to stop.....i will start crying again.
