It was a fleece year.
Some years are yarn years, some years are fiber years.

This was a fleece year.

How many fleeces +can+ I carry?

You look pretty happy there :-)

Thanks :) It was a really fun weekend. I realize from looking at that picture and comments from friends I haven't been that happy and unworried in a long time.

The amount of fleece I have is staggering. Fortunately I'm sharing it with others. But at the moment it's difficult to navigate in my (small) living room.

That is a great picture of you. It's also a *lot* of wool.

Thank you, kind sir. That is the best few days I've had in many months - probably since last summer. Which is a bit of a reality check for me.

I loaded roughly 50 lbs of fleece into the Subaru for the trip down the hill. Fortunately I'm sharing all the fleeces I bought.

I am lucky enough to have the Grand Champion White fleece and Reserve Grand Champion Colored fleece sitting in my living room. It's some +very+ nice stuff.

They had me (!) award Spinner's Choice this year, which was quite an honor. It was tough to select just one. I was also very flattered to have the fleece judge ask me questions during her judging process. Maybe I do know a thing or two after all these years :)

I've been thinking about you and your wife - how are things going?

She's pretty exhausted right now. We got back to our house ~2:30 a.m. yesterday morning and slept until after noon. Today I came in to work and left her alone for the first time since the sad news came last week. My daughter Amanda is supposed to come by this afternoon to visit with her a while.
