Notes from the weekend
I am too old to sleep on the cold, hard ground. Need to remember to get air mattress *all the way* out to the car next time...

It gets more than a bit chilly at 10k feet at night. Compounded by the above, I think that sleeping in the car on Saturday night was a good choice. I still fold up well enough.

New tents are not properly waterproofed right out of the box. Need to do this with new tent, once it dries out from the small lake that inhabited it Saturday.

Need to put sunscreen on myself too - not just other people. No doubt that my nose will peel now. And is owwie.

Bjarki's ceremony was beautiful. I held it together through the whole thing, until he stood to answer Irel and said 'I, Sir Bjarki...' Couldn't see the camera there for a minute. Tho the waterworks were pervasive throughout the crowd. Need to get the pics off the camera, process them, and upload them.

It was good to see Sean, even if I didn't get my birthday kiss. Need to take camcorder to Harvest War to tape basic shot training for later review. I'm not letting him off the hook this time.

Need to check and see who's going to Harvest War.

Need a brake job on the car.

Driving those twisty mountain roads is some fun stuff.

Time for a looong soak in a very hot tub for a bit.

yeah, a lot of people get surprised about most tents not being properly weather proof out of the box. the effort required to do it well is beyond some of them too. every year at various events, people get soaked. it's nasty.

happily, some tents are sold "good to go" and can survive 4 seasons. yay! i'd still want to keep some seam sealer in the tent bag. you never know.

my oldest tent would probably do well to be setup and have its seals checked - making note ... good thing to have done regularly.

sounds like a wet trip.
